The SBC 5100 platform uses the SPS100 DSP module for transcoding. The SBC 5200 uses the SPS100 DSP module, plus up to two optional SPS100DB (daughter board) DSP modules, for transcoding.
This section includes matrices depicting the maximum number of sessions between two codec types depending upon the number of DSP cards installed. The maximum number of sessions on SBC 5100 is 10,000 even though a three-DSP configuration supports over 10,000 for some codecs.
Keep in mind the following when referring to these tables:
- The cells highlighted in yellow may be limited by bandwidth depending upon packet size.
- Values associated with the same codec (i.e. like-codec to like-codec) refer to re-packetization.
SPS100 and SPS100DB cards are not customer installable/replaceable, and they cannot be used on SBC 5400, SBC 5x10 and SBC 7000 platforms. Please contact your sales representative for 5x00 DSP configuration options.
