This procedure explains how to configure the DNS Server for use with the Sonus SBC 1000/2000-SBA in a Lync Server deployment.
Verifying the DNS Reverse Lookup
- Connect to the DNS machine using a Remote Desktop Application.
- Log into the DNS machine using administrator credentials.
- Launch the DNS snap-in.
- Expand the tree until you reach the computer name of the DNS server.
- Verify that there is one entry for each network in the domain in the Reverse Lookup Zones directory.
Configuring DNS auto login
- Connect to the DNS machine using a Remote Desktop Application.
- Log into the DNS machine using administrator credentials.
- Launch the DNS snap-in.
- Expand the tree until you reach the computer name of the DNS server.
- Right click the _TCP folder.
- Select Other New Records....
- Select Service Location (SRV).
- click "Create Record".
- In the Service Location (SRV tab*, make the following selections:
- Enter _sipinternaltls in the Service text box.
- Enter_TCP in the Protocol: text box.
- Enter the cspool FQDN in the Host offering this servide: text box.
- Click OK.
Adding a DNS record for Sonus SBC 1000/2000
- Connect to the DNS machine using a Remote Desktop Application.
- Log into the DNS machine using administrator credentials.
- Launch the DNS snap-in.
- Expand the tree until you reach the computer name of the DNS server.
- Right click the appropriate domain.
- Select New Host (A or AAAA)....
- Enter the command name of the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 in the Name: text box.
- Enter the IP Address of the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 in the IP address: text box.
- Select Create associated pointer (PTR) record.
- Click OK.
