Use the following procedure to configure the primary and secondary host management interfaces:

  1. Log on to SBC BMC GUI using the IP address configured in the previous section.

    The BMC Main Screen appears:

  2. Click Configuration > Platform Management Network tab. The Platform Management Network Settings screen is displayed.

Refer to SBC 5400 Media Ports and Operation Modes to know more about these four media ports and their operational modes.

Any changes to the media port speed, deletes the existing configuration. To use the option, Enable 10G Media Speed, power off the host first.

The SBC 5400 platform includes the following configurable media port configurations.

    Media Port Configuration Options

    Media Port SpeedDescription
    10 Gbps
    • Pkt0 runs at 10 Gbps
    • Pkt1, Pkt2, and Pkt3 are inactive
    1 Gbps

    In 4x1Gbps mode:

    • Pkt0, Pkt1, Pkt2, and Pkt3 run at 1 Gbps and all the four ports are configurable.
    • Pkt2 and Pkt3 ports will not operate without the 4x1Gbps license.

    In 2x1 Gbps mode:

    • Pkt0 and Pkt1 run at 1 Gbps
    • Pkt2 and Pkt3 are inactive

In 10 Gbps mode, only media0 is configurable and operable.

    • 2 x 1 Gbps mode is a default mode that any SBC 5400 platform can use. A license is required to use both 4 x 1 Gbps and 1 x 10 Gbps modes.
    • If there is no license, only ports 0 and 1 are operable.

The media port speed is user-configurable and the following licenses are added in this release in support of the media port configurations:

    • SBC-4X1GMP – This license allows four 1 Gbps media ports.
    • SBC-1X10GMP – This license allows one 10 Gbps media port.
