To configure FXS ports:
In the left navigation pane, go to Node Interfaces > Ports.
By using the FXS long loop feature, the maximum length of the local loop supported by SBC1K/2K FXS line cards can be extended to 3000 meter. To accomplish this, you must configure the Long Loop on per FXS line card. The FXS port on this line card supports devices connected using up to 3000 meters long cables.
In case of SBC1000, enabling the long loop on an FXS line card can reduce the number of available ports by disabling the upper FXS cards in the system.
Enabling FXS long loop on a line card disables the FXS line card in the corresponding upper slot. For example, enabling long loop on FXS line card in slot 1 of the SBC1000 disables the FXS line card in slot 2 of the SBC. FXS long loop does not affect FXO line cards in the upper slots.
Following is the procedure to configure long loop.
In the WebUI, go to Settings > Node Interfaces > Ports.
The Port Table View window appears.
Select SET FXS Local Loop Type option on the top of the window. The following window appears.
Select the FXS long loop for FXS line card in Slot 1 and Slot 3.
You can select FXS long loop for FXS line card in Slot 1, Slot 3, and Slot 5, based on your requirement. There are two available options: Long Loop and Standard.
Click OK.
A confirmation window appears. You are prompted to confirm the changes.
Click OK.
If you want to discard the changes, click Cancel.
Once this selection is submitted, all the changes are applied to the FXS Line card in each slot. The The following Port Table View window shows port type for each slot. The Port Type is changed form FXS to FXS Long Loop in slot 1 and slot 3.
Also, the FXS line card in slot 2 and slot 4 are disabled and are unavailable to handle calls. This infers that the upper FXS cards in the system are disabled if long loop is applied.
To view real-time status, click the Monitor tab in the WebUI.
The following image shows that the FXS Module 2 and FXS Module 4 are not displayed under Sonus SBC 1000 Main Board.
To view the system overview, in the WebUI, go to System > Overview.
The following image shows that Telco Module 2 and Telco Module 4 are disabled.
To view your Sonus SBC 1000/2000 System's assets, go to System > Inventory Report tab.

To view your Sonus SBC 1000/2000 System's assets, in the WebUI, go to System > Inventory Report tab.
The Ports panel shows that the Port Type is changed to FXS Long Loop.
To modify a Port:
The Identification/Status Panel controls the network identity of the port and its administrative state (Up or Down). It also provides the port's current service status and when that status last changed.
Specifies an alias for the port. This text is configured by the operator for exclusive use by SNMP-based element and network management systems to assign a key to the port or interface, that is unique across the managed network. Examples would be "Node10Port5" and "VerizonPort5"
Specifies the administrative state of the port.
Analog line profiles allow users to change the impedance presented by the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 FXS ports. It should match the impedance of the specified country's Telco. Some countries use resistive impedance and some use complex impedance. For example, telephone companies in the United States use 600 ohm resistive impedance where as Australia uses 220 ohms in series with the parallel combination of 820 ohms and 120 nF.
Relative Profile Adjustments
Allows you to control the gain or loss (in decibels) to the received voice levels.
Specifies the gain or loss in decibels to apply to the transmitted voice levels.
Receive and Transmit Gain affect FAX functionality. Use/Modify with care.
