Overview

This page describes the procedure for backing up your Sonus SBC 1000/2000 system configuration to a file. The backup data will include the following Sonus SBC 1000/2000 data elements:

  1. The configuration file (including any imported certificates)
  2. The local users and passwords
  3. The pre and post login messages

Sonus SBC 1000/2000 with a Built-in ASM

If your Sonus SBC 1000/2000 unit has a built-in Application Solution Module (ASM), then the following configuration data elements are also stored:

  1. The ASM's Network Settings
  2. The ASM's Remote-Desktop Setting
Important Note:

If the ASM is deployed as a Lync SBA, the SBA configuration are not stored in the backup file. |

Screens shown below reflect Release 3.2.1 and later.

For Release 3.2, the instructions for the Passphrase appear on the screen; for Release 3.2.1 and later, the instructions appear only when you scroll the mouse over the Passphrase option in blue.

Backing up a Sonus SBC 1000/2000 Configuration

This operation can be accessed either via the Tasks Tab or the Settings Tab.

    1. In the WebUI, click the Tasks tab.

    2. In the left navigation pane, click System > Backup/Restore Config.

    3. From the Operation drop down box, select Backup Configuration.

    4. Enter a Passphrase for configuration back up (optional; up to 128 alpha-numeric characters). In the WebUI, scroll the mouse over the Passphrase field (in blue) for additional information.

      A passphrase is optional and, if provided, will be used in place of a node-specific cipher key to protect AD Credentials, Shared Keys, and other sensitive data.

    5. Enter the same password in the Confirm Passphrase box.

    6. Click OK (if you enter a passphrase or leave blank, the Open dialog is displayed).

    7. Choose a location in which to save the file.

    8. Click OK.

    The SBC 1000/2000 saves your configuration information as a .tar file only.

    1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.

    2. In the left navigation pane, go to System > Node-Level Settings.
    3. Click the Backup Config link in the upper left hand side of the Node-Level Settings window.

    4. Enter a Passphrase for configuration back up (optional; up to 128 alpha-numeric characters). In the WebUI, scroll the mouse over the Passphrase field (in blue) for additional information.

      A passphrase is optional and, if provided, will be used in place of a node-specific cipher key to protect AD Credentials, Shared Keys, and other sensitive data.

    5. Enter the same password in the Confirm Passphrase box.                                                                                                                                                                                                

    6. Click OK (if you enter a passphrase or leave blank, the Open dialog is displayed).

    7. Choose a location in which to save the file.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

    8. Click OK.
    Note:

    The SBC 1000/2000 saves your configuration information as a .tar file only.

    Helpful Tip: You may want to rename your backup file to a name that indicates the current software version and/or system configuration.
