Use this control to set detection of Media peer inactivity (Inactivity Timeout value) in conjunction with packet loss rate (Packet Loss Threshold) of a Packet Service Profile. . Thus, only Media peer inactivity is detected by the SBC.
On the SBC main screen, go to All > System > Media > Media Peer Inactivity. The Media Peer Inactivity window displays.

Inactivity Timeout | Use this parameter to specify the RTP/RTCP inactivity timeout value. The default value is 60 seconds. The valid range is between 20 to 1260 seconds. The timeout value must be a multiple of 10 seconds. When both RTP and RTCP are enabled, timeout only occurs if both packet types remain undetected for the configured inactivityTimeout duration. If RTCP is not enabled, then only the absence of RTP causes the timer to expire. Specify timeout value in multiples of 10 (range: 20-1260 / default = 60). Behavior/conditions: - When using this feature, you must also set the Peer Absence Action flag from the Packet Service Profile (refer to System Provisioning - Packet Service Profile).
- When Media Peer Inactivity is enabled (configured with an Inactivity Timeout value), the SBC detects media inactivity within the configured inactivity timeout value (0-10 seconds), and then executes the configured action.

- If the endpoint does not send both RTP and RTCP packets frequently enough within the Inactivity Timeout duration, it is recommended to avoid using Media Peer Inactivity.
Note: On the PSX Manager > Packet Service Profile screen, the field "Media Peer Inactivity Timeout (s)" allows the user to reduce the timeout duration to 1-1200 seconds for specific zones during emergency calls such as 911 calls. By default it is set to 0 (disabled). The value set on the PSX Manager takes precedence over the value set on the SBC side. |
Make the required changes and click Save at the right hand bottom of the panel to save the changes made.
