Run Initial Setup and Install Latest Software/Security Patches on New SBC

1. Follow the installation and setup instructions in the Quick Start card (SBC 1000 Quick Start or  SBC 2000 Quick Start ) included with the device.
2. Run initial setup. Refer to Running Initial Setup.
3. Determine the software release version installed on the SBC. Refer to Viewing the Software Version and Hardware ID (SBC 1000/2000, SBC SWe Edge).
4. If required, download the latest software from the Ribbon Support Portal.
   
   1. SBC Comms – UXCOMMSVC-releaseX.X.X.buildxxx.zip
   2. SBC Software – 

      Spacevars
      0 series

      (sbc1000-release-X.X.X.buildXXX.img), 

      Spacevars

      (sbc2000-release-X.X.X.buildXXX.img).

   3. ASM Roll-up – ASM-ROLLUP-UPDATESXXX-XX.zipASM Cumulative Updates – ASM-UPDATES-XXX_YYY-ZZZ_UX1k2k-release3.0.x-and-later.zip  

5. Upgrade the SBC Comms. Refer to Upgrading the SBC Communication Service Version.
6. Upgrade the SBC software. Refer to Upgrading or Downgrading the SBC 1000/2000.

7. Upload and apply the ASM Roll-up. Refer to ASM Roll-up Update.

   To apply the ASM Roll-up, internet access is required. An alternative approach is to apply the ASM updates using a WSUS server deployed by your Enterprise. Refer to Installing a WSUS.

   For the Skype/Lync SBA, download and apply the latest Cumulative Updates. Refer to Installing Cumulative Updates for Skype/Lync SBA.
8. Apply the Ribbon-approved Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools (BEST) software (if desired). Refer to Installing Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools on the ASM.
