The rollback procedures on this page describe how to restore your previous version of

Spacevars
0series3
in the unlikely event that you encounter an issue with your upgrade.

Warning
titleDowngrade Release 9.0 to a Previous Release - Guidelines

For downgrading

Spacevars
0series3
9.0 to a previous release: A downgrade protection recovery partition has been included in Release 9.0 to simplify the booting process. As a result, you must downgrade 9.0 to a minimum downgrade release listed below:

Current ReleaseMinimum Downgrade Release Allowed
9.0.0 and later8.0.5 or 8.1.6
8.0.5* and later8.0.5
8.1.6* and later8.1.6 or 8.0.5

*Not supported in AWS.

Note
titleBefore you begin

Prior to rolling back your upgrade, ensure that you have a backup of your data for the version you intend to rollback to.

Performing the Rollback

The

Spacevars
0series3
keeps its system software (firmware) in containers known as Application Partitions. There are two application partitions, one of which is Active. When the
Spacevars
0series3
is operational, it is running off of the Active Partition, and the remaining (inactive) partition serves as a spare.

You can rollback to the previous

Spacevars
0series3
version stored in the inactive partition:

  1. To roll back
    Spacevars
    0series3
    , activate the inactive partition.
  2. Verify that you are booting from the new partition either by checking the active partition, or by Viewing the Software Version and Hardware ID (SBC 1000/2000, SBC SWe Edge).
  3. Restore the backup configuration data associated with the version to which you have downgraded.

This completes the rollback procedure.pagebreak
