Backup Configuration

Note

The Restore function is restricted to the same platform (i. e.For example, restoring a configuration from SBC1000 to SBC2000 or vice versa SBC 1000 to SBC 2000, SBC 2000 to SWe Lite, SWe Lite to SBC 1000 (all combinations), is not permitted; an error message will display).

Note

SWe Lite configuration should be restored only on systems where the same logical interfaces are mapped.

  1. In the WebUI, click the Tasks tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, under the System, click Backup/Restore Config.

  3. From the Operation drop down, select Restore Configuration
  4. Under Select File, click Choose File. Select the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 backup file you wish to restore.

    Note

    The Restore function accepts only .tar and .tar.gz file types only.

  5. From the Replace User Passwords drop down list, select Yes or No.

    Note

    Replace User Passwords

    Select whether you would like system login credentials (Web UI and REST users) from the backup file to replace those currently on the system, or whether you would like to retain the current login credentials.

    In the WebUI, scroll the mouse over the Replace User Passwords field (in blue) for additional information.

  6. Enter a Passphrase for the configuration backup (optional; up to 128 alpha-numeric characters). If a passphrase was provided during backup then that same passphrase must be provided when restoring the configuration. In the WebUI, scroll the mouse over the Passphrase field (in blue) for additional information.   

     

  7. Enter the same password in the Confirm Passphrase box.

  8. Click OK. A reboot confirmation dialog appears.

    (SBC) model, users with a built-in Working with the ASM and SBA may be impacted by this operation:

    • Sonus SBC 2000
    • If the ASM is running, rebooting the SBC will cause the ASM to also reboot.
    • If the ASM is shut down, rebooting the SBC will not restart the ASM.
    • To bring the ASM back into operation, you must physically power off and power back on the SBC.
    • Sonus SBC 1000 --- rebooting the SBC will not have an effect on the ASM.

  9. In the confirmation dialog, click OK. If the passphrase is correct, the system is restored. If the password is incorrect, an error message is displayed. See Using the Custom Passphrase.

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to System > Note-Level Settings.

  3. Click the Restore Config link in the upper center of the Node-Level Settings window.
  4. In the Restore Configuration to Sonus SBC popup window, click Select File and select the file to be restored.

  5. From the Replace User Passwords select Yes or No. In the WebUI, scroll the mouse over the Replace User Passwords field (in blue) for additional information.

Tip

The Sonus SBC 1000/2000 takes about 3 three minutes to reboot and become operational.
