Configuring the ASM Network Settings with DHCPv4 Disabled

Info

ASM configuration is also completed under Tasks > Lync™ Survivable Branch Appliance > Setup SBA> ASM Config.

If you wish to statically define the IP address of the ASM, follow these instructions:

...

Panel
bgColor#FAFAFA
borderStylenone

Specifies the IP address mode that is assigned for the interface used by the ASM. Choices are IPv4 or IPv4 and IPv6. Depending on the mode selected, specific configuration fields are displayed; these are noted where applicable. When the IPv4 and IPv6 option is selected, IPv4 and IPv6 configuration is available.

Note

Ethernet 1 port used by the ASM requires an IPv4 address; configuring an additional IPv6 address is optional.

Note

To configure IPv6 on the ASM ports, the ASM must be running Windows Server 2012R22019.

DHCPv4 Enabled

Panel
bgColor#FAFAFA
borderStylenone

Specifies whether DHCPv4 is enabled on the interface through which the ASM communicates.  When this field is set to No, the IP configuration fields are displayed.

...

Panel
bgColor#FAFAFA
borderStylenone

Specifies the primary IPv6 address for the port through which the ASM communicates. This entry is in a colon-hex notation (i.e., 2001:db8:10::100).

Note: In order to configure IPv6 on the ASM, the ASM must be running Windows Server 2012R22019.

Field is displayed only when DHCPv4 Enabled for Network Adapter 1 is set to No.
