FXS Long Loop

By using the FXS long loop feature, the maximum length of the local loop supported by SBC1K/2K FXS line cards can be extended to 3000 meter. To accomplish this, you must configure the Long Loop on per FXS line card. The FXS port on this line card supports devices connected using up to 3000 meters long cables.

  1. In the WebUI, go to Settings > Node Interfaces > Ports.

  2. Select SET FXS Local Loop Type option on the top of the window. The following window appears.

  3. Select the FXS long loop for FXS line card in Slot 1 and Slot 3.

    Note

    You can select FXS long loop for FXS line card in Slot 1, Slot 3, and Slot 5, based on your requirement. There are two available options: Long Loop and Standard.

  4. Click OK.

    A confirmation window appears. You are prompted to confirm the changes.

  5. Click OK.

    Note

    If you want to discard the changes, click Cancel.

    Once this selection is submitted, all the changes are applied to the FXS Line card in each slot. The  The following Port Table View window shows port type for each slot. The Port Type is changed form FXS to FXS Long Loop in slot 1 and slot 3.
    Also, the FXS line card in slot 2 and slot 4 are disabled and are unavailable to handle calls. This infers that the upper FXS cards in the system are disabled if long loop is applied.

Viewing Monitor Tab

To view real-time status, click the Monitor tab in the WebUI.

The following image shows that the FXS Module 2 and FXS Module 4 are not displayed under Sonus SBC 1000 Main Board.

Viewing Overview Tab
