- Choose Switch > RSTP Config.
In System Configuration, choose a priority number between 0 and 61440 from the System Priority drop-down list. The lower the system priority the more likely the switch is to become root in Spanning tree.
In the Hello Time field, enter the number of seconds between periodic configuration BPDUs. Default is two seconds.
In the Max Age (# of hops) field, enter the maximum amount of time that a BPDU is saved. Default is 20.
In the Forward Delay field, enter the time spent in the Listening and Learning states. Default is 15 seconds.
Choose a RSTP protocol version type from the Force Version drop-down list:
Normal—Use RSTP (default)
Compatible—Compatible with old STP
Scroll to Port Configuration.
Select a port to manage. To select all ports, click All or click None to deselect all ports
Select the Protocol Enabled checkbox to enable RSTP for this port.
Select the Edge checkbox if a port has no other bridge attached to it.
The box is checked by default.
In the Path Cost field, enter the path cost of the link connected to this port leading to the Root Bridge. Default is auto.
View the current state of a port in the Port State field:
Blocking
Listening
Learning
Forwarding
Disabled
Non-STP
Click Submit to save all settings on the page.
