SIP UA enables analog phones at each FXS port to make IP or PSTN calls. Each FXS port represents an instance of a SIP user agent. Once configured, each FXS port registers to the configured domain using outbound proxy. If registration is successful, the phone at the FXS port will have a dial tone.
Choose VoIP > SIP > SIPUA.
Select the Enable SIPUA checkbox and click Submit.

Register with proxy | Select the Register with proxy checkbox to instruct each configured FXS port to send a REGISTER request to the configured domain through a configured outbound proxy. If this checkbox is not checked, FXS ports will not register. Note: Some VoIP deployments use static registration for the FXS ports and do not require port registration. |
Enable Dry-Closure (FXO-FXS) | Note: Available on EdgeMarc 250 only. Specifies FXS port 4 to connect to the FXO port (known as “dry closure”) during a power failure. For systems licensed with less than four ports, user phones are connected to FXS ports 1-3 and can be completely disconnected from the FXO port to allow dry closure. To connect the FXO port to one of the FXS phones during a power failure, swap the port 1 license to port 4. |
