1. In the Create a New Class window, select the action to be performed from the Action drop-down list:
    • Add new Rule—Default. To add a new rule.
    • Edit “priority”—To edit Priority of an existing Class
    • Edit “best_effort”—To edit best_effort of an existing Class
  2. Enter a name in the Name field.
  3. Choose a class of service from the Priority Class drop-down list
    • Best Effort—Default. All unmarked traffic is assigned to this class. This traffic is also the first to be dropped during times of congestion. For example web, email, and SNMP.
    • Assured Forwarding / IP Precedence (AF/IP 1 to 4)—For applications that require better reliability than best-effort service.
    • Expedited Forwarding / IP Precedence 5—Provides low-loss, low-latency, low-jitter and guaranteed bandwidth for real time voice traffic.
    • IP Precedence 6 and 7

  4. If the GRED/LLQ shaper is enabled, choose either Yes or No from the LLQ drop-down list to treat this traffic as LLQ. Refer to Set GRED/LLQ Configuration Rules.

  5. Enter a value in the Bandwidth Percentage field. The sum of bandwidth percentages across all configured classes cannot exceed 100%, so you may need to manage the existing Classes of Service list before you can add a new class of service. Refer to Delete a Class of Service.

  6. Click Add.
