1. Choose Network > DHCP.

  2. Configure settings using the information in the following table as a guide. When you have finished configuring settings, click Submit to make your changes take effect.

    DHCP Server Parameters

    DHCP MAC Reservations

    Reserves a specific IP address in the DHCP range for a specific MAC address.

    Subnet

    Selects a network to configure for DHCP if multiple networks are configured on the system.

    DHCP IP Address Ranges

    Shows the dynamic addresses to use for the LAN devices. Refer to Manage DHCP IPv4 Address Ranges.

    Add a DHCP Range

    Configures individual DHCP IP addresses or a range of addresses and assigns static IP addresses for any common-access devices, such as printers or fax machines.

    Subnet

    Configures the Subnet and Subnet Mask addresses for the DHCP pool. The default implied values are 192.168.1.1 and 255.255.255.0.

    Test for other DHCP Servers

    Click the Test button to determine whether there are other DHCP servers configured on the system.

    DHCP Settings

    Refer to Configure DHCP Server IPv4 Settings.

    Enable DHCP Server

    Select the Enable DHCP Server check-box to enable the DHCP server.

    Default Lease Duration (Days)

    Configures the default number of days to lease the DHCP service for your system. This is the amount of time a DHCP service remains connected without lapse. Resource allocation and cost might influence the quantity assigned. The value can be 1 day minimum and 30 days maximum.

    Max Lease Duration (Days)Configures the maximum number of days to the lease the DHCP service for your system.

    Time Offset, +/- hours (Option 2)

    Sets the time offset in hours from Universal time Code (UTC) for your location.

    NTP Server Address (Option 42)

    Sets the Network Time Protocol (NTP) address that is served out by DHCP.

    WINS Address

    (Option 44)

    Configures the Windows Internal Naming Service (WINS) service. WINS keeps a database of computer name-to-IP address mappings so that computer names used in Windows environments can be mapped to IP addresses.

    TFTP/FTP Server Name (Option 66)

    Sets the TFTP/FTP server name that is served out by DHCP. Used by some endpoints to download their configuration via TFTP/FTP. By default, this option is the same as the TFTP server on the ALG page.

    Boot File Name (Option

    67)

    Names boot file used by some endpoints.

    VLAN ID Discovery (Option 129)

    Configures VLAN ID dynamic discovery. A valid VLAN ID is between 1 and 4094.

    All EdgeMarc models support a maximum of 16 VLANs, all of which could be associated with the DHCP Server. The following are the default VLAN IDs used on the EdgeMarc:

    • VLAN ID 1 (formerly 2730)—Interface management

    • VLAN ID 500—Voice

    • VLAN ID 600—Data

    To configure DHCP with VLANS, you must enable VLAN capability. Choose Network > VLAN and refer to Configure WAN Interface Settings.

    Note: The Polycom phone boots on the Data (native) VLAN by default and acquires Option 129 automatically. Upon learning Option 129, the phone re-boots with the correct VLAN ID.

    Option 150/151

    		User-defined IP address fields. By default, these options are the same as the LAN IP address on the Network page. Refer to the DHCP Server Options table for a description of these options.
    Options 159/160

    User-defined text fields.

    Enable Vendor specific configuration (Option 43)

    Configures the DHCP server to send vendor specific parameters to devices using Option 43. Refer to Manage DHCP IPv4 Vendor Specific Configuration.
