When generating a certificate for use with HTTPS, it is typically self-signed or generated by an external CA. It is possible to sign the HTTPS certificate with a locally generated CA certificate, but there is no need to do this extra step. Once an HTTPS certificate is created or uploaded, go to the HTTPS Configuration page to select which HTTPS certificate to use for the Web Server.
