1. Choose VoIP > Survivability.
  2. Scroll to Common Settings.

  3. Configure settings using the information in the following table as a guide.

    Survivability

    Choose an option from the Survivability drop-down list:

    Disabled (default)—The system does not provide local call switching in the event of a loss of connectivity to the Softswitch/IP PBX.

    Enabled (auto)—The system automatically performs local call switching when the Softswitch/IP PBX becomes unavailable.

    Always Local—The system always provides local call switching even when the Softswitch/IP PBX is available to process calls.

    Tip: When all softswitches are unreachable, the system can act as a proxy for the locally attached phones.

    Time between DNS lookups

    Enter the number of seconds between the DNS SRV lookup on the SIP server URL that was entered on the VOIP > SIP page. Refer to Configure Survivability Common Settings.

  4. Click Submit to save your settings.

  5. Proceed to Configure SIP Server Reachability.
