    Local Call Control Parameters

    ItemDescription

    Local Call Control Configuration

Number of digits for local dialing

Enter the number of digits that the system uses to process local calls during local call switching.

For example, if you enter the number 4, the last four digits are used as the phone extension. If you enter 0, the whole phone number is used.

    Enable Local-Mode Indicator (SIP Only)

Select the checkbox to instruct the system to ignore Register messages from the phone. The phone displays a different Icon or Line-Appearance symbol while in Local mode.

    Enable Shared Call (SIP Only)

Select the checkbox to route all SIP calls to the phone primary line appearance while in Local mode. Use this option when the phone is configured to have multiple shared/bridged call appearances.

Without this option, calls made to any of the appearances other than the first appearance are ignored by the EdgeMarc while it is in Local mode. SIP only.

Request Subscriber Information from SIP Server

Select the checkbox to request subscriber information as a part of the phone registration procedure.

The Softswitch/IP PBX then returns additional information about the phone, such as additional extensions, that can be used in survivable mode.

    Maximum Registration Expiry

Enter the maximum registration expiry interval, in seconds, that the local call control server accepts from SIP endpoints. Use this field to match the registration expiry interval of the local call control server with the remote server.

If the local expiry interval is longer than that of the remote server, the endpoints lose their registration with the remote softswitch when they come out of local mode.

    Local Mode Indicator

Choose an option for handling Register messages when in local mode:

Off —No local mode indicator is used.

Suppress Register Response—The system ignores Register messages from the phone to cause the phone to display a different Icon or Line-Appearance symbol while in Local mode.

Send Response Information—The system sends information back to the phone in the register response, which the phone then displays to the user.

    Local Mode Message

Enter a local mode message that will be shown on the user's phone (for phones that support this feature) when the system is in local mode. SIP only.

    Codec Choice

Choose a codec to signal when in Survivability mode from the Codec Choice drop-down list:

    G.711 ulaw

    G.711 alaw

    G.729

  4. Click Submit to save your settings.

  5. Proceed to Configure SIP Registration Control.
