This article describes the steps necessary to configure the SBC Edge so that a call may be placed from a SIP phone through the SBC Edge to an ISDN endpoint as depicted by the following call flow:

SBC Edge Configuration

SIP Local Registrar Table Configuration

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.

  2. In the left navigation pane, go to SIP > Local Registrars

  3. Add a new SIP Local Registrar.

Transformation Table Configuration

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.

  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Transformation

  3. Add a new Transformation Table.

  4. Add two entries to the new Transformation Table configured as follows:

Call Routing Table Configuration

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.

  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Call Routing Table.

  3. Add a new Call Routing Table.

  4. Add an entry to the new Call Routing Table and configure with the values below; keep the fields not listed as the default values.

  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Signaling Groups.

  3. Add a new SIP Signaling Group and configure it with the values below; keep the fields not listed as the default values.

ISDN Port Configuration

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.

  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Node Interfaces > Ports.

  3. Click the port you wish to configure.

  4. Configure the port with the values listed below; keep the keep the fields not listed as the default values.

ISDN Signaling Group Configuration

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.

  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Signaling Groups.

  3. Add a new ISDN Signaling Group.

  4. Configure the new ISDN Signaling Group with the values listed below; keep the fields not listed as the default values.

Verification

Endpoint Registration:

When the endpoint registers, the registration request arrives to the SBC Edge through the SIP signaling group, the SBC Edge responds to the REGISTRATION request with a 200 OK – a successful SIP endpoint registration occurs.
