In this section:
The T1/E1 PSTN Interface card is a TNV1 compliant digital interface card with integrated Channel Service Unit (CSU) function for direct connection to outside plant wiring. This card has board-mounted protection circuits for electrical isolation and protection against power crossing, lightning surges and hazardous voltages.
Card Port Versions
The T1/E1 PSTN Interface card offers 8 T1/E1 ports; the number of active ports is dependent upon licensing. For more information, see Working with Licenses. The 8-port card is shown below; all T1/E1 ports on the card have identical electrical circuit design.
# | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Port 1-4 Status | Displays the status of ports 1 through 4. |
2 | Ports 1-4 | Physical ISDN ports 1 through 4. |
3 | Port 5-8 Status | Displays the status of ports 5 through 8. |
4 | Ports 5-8 | Physical ISDN ports 5 through 8. |
5 | Hot Swap | Displays Hot Swap status of the interface card. Unknown macro: {multi-excerpt-include} For more information on inserting and removing interface cards, see Inserting and Removing Interface Cards. |
Port Status LEDs
Each T1/E1 port on the T1/E1 PSTN Interface card has an LED to indicate its operational status. The status states are described below:
Color | Status | Description |
---|---|---|
Off | No Signal | Indicates the port is not connected or connected cable is not providing a signal. Connect a cable or check the far-end connection. |
Green | Link Up | Indicates the port is operating normally. |
Red | LOF | Indicates the port has a Loss Of Framing (LOF) error. A cable is connected, but the SBC 1000/2000 cannot detect a correct T1 or E1 frame. |
Amber | Yellow | Indicates there is a problem with the far-end connection. This status is usually communicated from remote side and indicates the SBC 1000/2000 receiver is synced up, but there is a problem at the remote side receiver. |
