The SBC 2000 system comes equipped with either a single power supply, or dual redundant power supplies. These are Customer Replaceable Units (CRU). For more information on Power Supply specifications, refer to Ribbon SBC 1000-2000 System Power Supplies.

Important

Replacing 423-40576-001 Power Supplies with 423-40576-002 Power Supplies is not hot swappable and requires the system to be powered down to complete the replacement.

For a diagram and description of the SBC 2000 rear panel, refer to SBC 2000 Rear Panel

The SBC 2000 power supplies include a LED status indicator on the back of the unit. For details on LED status indicators, refer to the following table:

Parts and Tools Required

  • Electrostatic discharge (ESD) strap
  • Replacement power supplies

To prevent damage from electrostatic discharge, an ESD strap is provided in the accessory kit. See Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Precautions to install it.

Replacing Power Supplies in the SBC 2000 (423-40576-001 to 423-40576-002 Conversion)

Perform the following procedure to replace one or two SBC 2000 423-40576-001 Power Supplies (PS) with one or two SBC 2000 423-40576-002 Power Supplies (PS).

If you have two 423-40576-001 Power Supplies, BOTH power supplies must be replaced with 423-40576-002, as the power supply types cannot mix.

Note

Replacing the -001 power supply with the -002 power supply is not hot swappable and requires the system to be powered down to complete the replacement.

  1. Attach an Electrostatic Discharge wrist strap to the ESD grounding point on the back panel of the chassis, and place the other end around your wrist (see Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Precautions for details).
  2. Removing the AC power from both power supplies by unplugging them from the power source to power down the SBC 2000.
  3. Verify that there are no LEDs lit.
  4. Remove the Power Supply or Supplies (PS) 423-40576-001 from the SBC 2000 chassis.

  5. Install the replacement Power Supply or Supplies (PS) 423-40576-002 into the SBC 2000 chassis by sliding them forward until you hear the latch click in place.
  6. Reconnect the AC power cables to the new power supplies.

  7. Observe the LED light is Solid Green.
