Overview

Ribbon Application Management Platform enables centralized management of Ribbon Communications Intelligent Edges, such as the SBC SWe Edge. Using the Ribbon Application Management Platform software running on Ribbon Application Management Platform, enterprises and service providers can monitor, and troubleshoot VoIP performance statistics from a central location, thus enhancing the support services provided to their customers. Ribbon Application Management Platform can manage networks of all sizes. It can be installed as a standalone system or in a redundant high-availability configuration for carrier-grade environments.

Through Ribbon Application Management Platform, you can manage, monitor, provision and troubleshoot the SBC SWe Edge, including billing, licensing support and reporting of usage statistics.

Health and Performance Monitoring

Ribbon Application Management Platform monitors the SBC SWe Edge device or group of devices according to model number mode, IP address, etc. From this data, Ribbon Application Management Platform provides alarm information (highest level alarm), as well as a description of the issue and date/time. For example, Ribbon Application Management Platform reports whether service issues are on the LAN, WAN or device: packet loss, jitter, delay, plus over ten parameters for an individual call, using the following features:

Voice Quality

The SBC SWe Edge reports Voice Quality related information (latency, delay, jitter, packet loss, etc) to the Ribbon Application Management Platform for reporting to the operator. The voice quality information is present in the media statistics of the CDR record; through Ribbon Application Management Platform, you can view Voice Quality related fields independently, or as part of the complete CDR record.

Deployment and Management
