Feature Overview

The SBC 1000/2000 includes the Easy Configuration option to add a partially configured signaling group with a new single end-point scenario for FXO endpoints.

Configure Single Leg Wizard for FXO

The Configure Single Leg Wizard for FXO option applies to SBC 1000/2000 only.

The SBC Easy Configuration interface includes a built-in, step-by-step setup configuration wizard to enable quick and easy deployment of a partially configured signaling group with a new single end-point scenario for FXO.

For the single endpoint configuration, since the peer end if not known/configured, in the Easy Configuration Wizard, the Transformation and Routing entries for the endpoint being configured are created independent of the peer end. If you have two endpoints connected and use the Single Leg Wizard to add the third endpoint, you'll need to create/modify the Transformation and Routing entries to complete routing.

  • A single leg wizard should be used to add a 3rd, 4th, 5th peer to device, when at least 2 legs have already been configuring via the standard Easy Configuration Wizard.
  • Emergency configuration is not supported for single end scenarios.


Step 1: Select FXO

Easy Configuration Step 1 includes configuration for scenario parameters.

  1. In the WebUI, click the Tasks tab.
  2. In the left navigation panel, go to SBC Easy Setup > Easy Config Wizard.

  3. From the Application drop down list, select FXO.

  4. Configure per the field definitions below and click Next.

Step 2: Configure FXO for Endpoint

Easy Configuration Step 2 includes configuration for the FXO endpoint.

  1. Configure the FXO information.
  2. Click Next.

Configure FXO Parameters

FieldDescription
Calibrate FXO Ports

Enables/disables FXO Port calibration.

FXO Port Calibration function determines the optimum impedance and the local loop type settings and configures each selected port accordingly, which eliminates impedance mismatching. Impedance mismatching results in audible echos on the line and reduced call quality. Correctly matching the line impedance reduces or eliminates the echo. A number of factors influence the line impedance: line types that vary from country to country, line types that vary between geographic regions, and the distance between the node and the central office.

Options: Yes (FXO port calibration is executed) or No (FXO port calibration is not executed).

Caller ID Type

Specifies the Caller ID Type used with the signaling group.

Not all countries are standardized on which Caller ID Type they use. This list contains suggested types for certain countries, and some countries use multiple types. If the Caller ID Types listed here are not used for your country, you may need to contact your local service provider for more information.

Caller ID by Country:

Disabled. Caller ID type is not used.

FSK. Mexico, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand Singapore, Hong Kong, and some parts of China.

FSK, No Ring. UK, Taiwan, and some parts of China.

DTMF. Brazil, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, India, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Uruguay and some parts of Taiwan.

DTMF, No Ring. Taiwan and some parts of China.

DTMF, Reverse Battery. Taiwan and China.

ETSI, Reverse Battery. Taiwan.

NTT, Japan CID. NTT and Japan.

Caller ID Start Deliminator

Available only when the Caller ID Type is DTMF, DTMF NO Ring, or DTMF Reverse Battery.

Caller ID End DeliminatorAvailable only when the Caller ID Type is DTMF, DTMF NO Ring, or DTMF Reverse Battery.
Provider Hunt GroupWhen enabled, all ports in the signaling group are set to the Hunt Group phone number entered in the Phone Number field. Valid options: Enabled or Disabled.
FXO PortsThe physical FXO port number to which the FXO line is physically connected. Configure FXO port entries using the following command buttons: Up (move a port up in the list), Down (move a port down in the list), Add/Edit (adds or changes a port), and Remove (deletes a port).

For example, click Add/Edit to add a port. Click the check box for the desired FXO port, and click OK.

Phone NumberThe phone number associated with the FXO ports specified. This field is available only when Provider Hunt Group is Enabled.

Step 3: Summary

Easy Configuration Step 3 includes a summary of the information configured in Step 1 and Step 2.

Review the information and click Finish.
