This page describes how you can view the status of each license along with a copy of the license keys installed on your SBC. The Port Licenses panel enables you to verify if a port is licensed and the number of available licensed ports. The Feature Licenses panel enables you to verify whether a feature is licensed, along with the number of remaining licenses available for a given feature at run-time.

The Port License panel is displayed only on the SBC 1000 and SBC 2000.

The Port Licenses panel provides the following information:

  • Feature. Indicates licensed TDM ports (DS1, BRI, FXS, FXO).
  • Licensed. Indicates whether the port is licensed.
  • Number of Licensed Ports. The total number of licensed ports in the node (this includes DSI, BRI, FXS, FXO).

The Feature License panel provides the following information:

  • Feature. Indicates licensed features.
  • Licensed. Indicates whether the feature is licensed.
  • Total Licenses. The total number of licenses in the system for the specified feature.
  • Available Licenses. The number of unactivated licenses in the system for the specified feature.
  • Feature Expiration. The date the feature license expires (for SBC SWe Edge only)


Viewing Licenses (SBC 1000/2000)

View Licenses on the SBC 1000/2000 as follows:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to System > Licensing > Current Licenses.

    Note

    Refer to Licenses for more information about license SKUs.

    Windows Factory License shows Windows Server 2019 for newly-manufactured SBCs shipped to you.  

    Below is an example of Windows Factory License showing Windows Server 2019.


    Windows Factory License shows Windows Server 2012R2 for SBCs with ASM operating systems upgraded from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019 in the field.

Viewing Licenses (SBC SWe Edge)

The Current License pages displays the license according to the license-source type

  • v2SBC SWe Edge License Format Version 2

    Caution

    The License Format Version 2 is obsolete as of the SBC SWe Edge Release 8.1.5 and later and Release 8.0.4 and later 8.0.x releases. For more information, refer to the SBC SWe Edge License Format Overview.

  • v3SBC SWe Edge License Format Version 3 (available for Release 8.1.5 (or later) or 8.0.4 and later 8.0.x releases).

View Licenses on the SBC SWe Edgeas follows:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to System > Licensing > Current Licenses.

    Note

    Refer to Node-Locked Licensing - SBC 1000/2000 and SBC SWe Edge for more information about license SKUs.

    Caution

    If your Current Licenses screen displays the message in the following screen capture, you must upgrade to the License Format Version 3 (refer to the Working with Licenses warning).

View License Keys

View License Keys is available for SBC 1000/2000 only.

The installed license key view is typically useful for record keeping and when asked to send the key during a troubleshooting case with a Ribbon representative.

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to System > Licensing > License Keys.

Download License File

Download License File is available for SBC SWe Edge only.

Download the current license file as follows:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to System > Licensing > Current Licenses.

  3. Click Download License File.

View Historical Usage

Historical data tracks call usage traffic according to the number of DSP and SIP calls in a 24-hour period.

View Historical Usage for Licenses as follows:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to System > Licensing > Current Licenses.

  3. Click Historical Usage. The historical counters for license usage are displayed. For parameter definitions, refer to Working with Historical Data and TCA Thresholds.
