Overview

The SBC Easy Config interface includes a built-in, step-by-step setup configuration wizard to enable quick and easy deployment of an SBC to connect a UCaaS environment with a PSTN Provider through ISDN.

The ISDN PSTN ↔ UCaaS option applies to SBC 1000/2000 only.

Step 1: Select ISDN PSTN ↔ UCaaS

Easy Configuration Step 1 includes configuration for Scenario Parameters and SIP Trunk type.

  1. In the WebUI, click the Tasks tab.
  2. In the left navigation panel, go to SBC Easy Setup > Easy Config Wizard.
  3. From the Application drop down list, select ISDN PSTN ↔ UCaaS.

  4. Configure per the field definitions below and click Next



    Configure Scenario Parameters - Field Definitions

Step 2: Configure ISDN PSTN Details for UCaaS

Easy Configuration Step 2 includes configuration for the ISDN PSTN endpoint and UCaaS. 

  1. Configure the ISDN PSTN information (see below for field definitions).
  2. Configure the UCaaS: Zoom information (see below for field definitions).
  3. Click  Next



    Configure ISDN PSTN

    FieldDescription
    Port TypeSpecifies the physical T1/E1 port used for this Signaling Group. Valid option: T1 or E1.
    DS1 Ports

    The physical T1/E1 port number to which the PSTN line is physically connected. DS1 entries are configured with the following command buttons: Up (move a DS1 port up in the list), Down (move a DS1 port down in the list), Add (adds a DS1 port), and Remove (deletes a DS1 port).

    For example, click Add. Select the desired PSTN port and OK.

    Switch Variant

    Specifies the ISDN variant for the port type in the ISDN Signaling Group.

    For T1

    • ATT 4EES
    • ATT 5EES
    • DMS 100
    • N12
    • Euro ISDN
    • QSIG
    • Japanese ISDN

    For E1:

    • Euro ISDN
    • QSIG
    ISDN Number TranslationDetermines if the SBC should translate dialed PSTN digits as phone extensions. Valid options: Translation Extension (translates digits into phone extensions) or Passthrough Untranslated (does not translate digits).
    PBX PrefixNumbers to prefix for the translated phone extension. This field is available only when ISDN Number Translation is set to Translation Extension.
    Extension LengthThe number of digits used to account for the PSTN extension. Valid options: 2, 3, 4, or 5.This field is available only when ISDN Number Translation is set to Translation Extension.
    Clock Source

    Specifies the source of the systems transmit clock.

    • System: The built-in oscillator is used to transmit data over synchronous links.
    • Network: The clock is derived from the data received from the peer devices on the network.
    Primary Clock PortSpecifies the primary port for the clock source. This field displays only when Network is selected as the Clock Source.
    Secondary Clock PortSpecifies the secondary port for the clock source. This field displays only when Network is selected as the Clock Source.
    ISDN SideSpecifies the ISDN user/network side for this signaling group to be created by this wizard. Valid entries: Network or User.

    Configure UCaaS

    Signaling/Media Source IP

    The external (Internet-facing) IP address of the Zoom server that handles routing of messages for signaling and media.

    HostThe IP/FQDN address used for Zoom. Valid entry: FQDN or IP.
    Port NumberThe port used for Zoom.  Valid entry: 1024 - 65535)

Step 3: Summary

Easy Configuration Step 3 includes a summary of the information configured in Step 1 and Step 2.

Review the information and click Finish.
