Preparing for Installation

To Prepare for Ribbon SBC Edge Portfolio Chassis Installation

1. Unpack and inspect the Ribbon SBC 1000/2000 unit
   • Inspect the unit for any damage, and contact Ribbon to report any problems.

   • Keep all packing material until you have successfully placed your Ribbon SBC 1000/2000 unit into service.

     It is normal to receive a system with an empty envelope included with the packing materials; this envelope contained the Microsoft OS Certificate of Authenticity stickers which have been previously applied to the chassis.

2. Review the Safety Requirements and Precautions.
3. Identify an installation site that meets the following Ribbon SBC 1000/2000 hardware requirements:
   • Safety Requirements
   • Equipment Rack Requirements
   • Power Connection Requirements
   • Chassis Mounting Space Requirements
   • Restricted Access Location Requirements
   • System Grounding Requirements
