This section depicts the maximum number of sessions between two codec types on an SBC 5210 with one DSP20 card and an SBC 5210 with one DSP25 card installed. Only one DSP20 can be used in an SBC 5x10, and it cannot be mixed with DSP25 modules within the same chassis, and between Active and Standby servers.

SBC 5210 With One DSP25

The following matrix lists the maximum number of sessions between two codec types for an SBC 5210 equipped with one DSP25 module. The SBC 5210 can be configured with up to four DSP25 modules.


DSP Density Limitations

DSP density values are approximate and intended for use as a general guide when estimating transcoding capabilities.

  • The density highlighted in green may be limited by bandwidth depending upon packet size when SBC is configured with two, three or four DSP25 modules.
  • The densities highlighted in blue may be limited by bandwidth depending upon packet size when SBC is configured with three or four DSP25 modules.
  • The densities highlighted in yellow may be limited by bandwidth depending upon packet size when SBC is configured with four DSP25 modules.

If more than one module is installed, multiply the values in the table below by a factor of two, three or four, as appropriate, to obtain approximate DSP density values. DSP density values are approximate and intended for use as a general guide when estimating transcoding capabilities.

Values associated with the same codec (i.e. like-codec to like-codec) refer to re-packetization.
