Media - Tone Codec Entry

Use Codec Type window to configure the Tone Codec Entry and Segment ID for a selected Tone Type within the Tone As Announcement Profile for the system.

On the SBC main screen, navigate to All > Profiles > Media > Tone As Announcement Profile > Tone Type > Codec Type.

To Create a Codec Type

To create a new Codec Type:

  1. Select the Tone Type to which you want to add a Codec Type in the Tone Type list.
  2. Click New Codec Type. The Create New Codec Type window opens.

  3. Use the following table to configure the options an then click Save. Note that the name shown in the Codec List is the name of the selected Tone Codec Entry.

Tone Codec Entry

Select the name of a Tone Codec Entry. The list contains the Tone Codec Entries configured on your system.

Note: The Tone As Announcement Profile uses the Tone Codec Entry configuration rather than the Codec Entry configuration to define the codec types for the profile. Thus, ensure you first complete Tone Codec Entry configuration before configuring Tone As Announcement Profile. Refer to Media - Tone Codec Entry. 

Segment IDSpecify the Segment ID for the announcement segment file that is mapped to the specified announcement package. Default value = 0.

To Edit a Codec Type

To edit a Codec Type:

  1. Click the radio button next to the Codec Type entry you want to edit. The Edit Selected Codec Type window opens.
  2. Make the required changes and click Save.

To Copy a Codec Type

To copy a Codec Type:

  1. Click the radio button next to the name of the Codec Type you want to copy.

  2. Click Copy Codec Type. The Copy Selected Codec Type window opens.
  3. Make the required changes and click Save.

To Delete a Codec Type

To delete a Codec Type:

  1. Click the radio button next to the name of the Codec Type you want to delete.
  2. Click the delete icon (X) at the end of the row.
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
