SNMP community strings are text strings that act as a rudimentary authentication mechanism for SNMP v1/v2. An SNMP manager places a community string (in plaintext) into an SNMP request when sending the request to a managed device such as spac. The SNMP agent in a managed device ignores SNMP requests that do not contain a community string matching with the previously configured string.
You can create up to eight SNMP Community Strings.
On SBC main screen, go to Administration > Traps and SNMP > SNMP > Community String. The Community String window is displayed.
To edit any of the Community Strings, click the radio button next to the specific Trap Traget name.
The Edit Selected Community String window is displayed below.
Make the required changes and click Save to save the changes.
To create a new Community String, click New Community String tab on the Community String List panel.
The Create New Community String window is displayed.
Enter all the required fields. You can click Show only required fields at the left hand bottom of the panel to view and enter only the required fields to create a new Community String.

To copy any of the created Community String and to make any minor changes, click the radio button next to the specific Community String name to highlight the row.
Click Copy Community String tab on the Community String List panel.
The Copy Community String window is displayed along with the field details which can be edited.
Make the required changes to the required fields and click Save to save the changes. The Copied Community String is displayed at the bottom of the original Community String in the Community String List panel.
To delete any of the created Community Strings, click the radio button next to the specific Community String name which you want to delete.
Click Delete at the end of the highlighted row. A delete confirmation message appears seeking your decision.
Click Yes to remove the specific Community String.
