In this section:

This object allows you to configure signaling ports for gateway-to-gateway call signaling.

GW signaling port limitations:

  • Create the GW signaling port under the default address context and within the 'defaultSigZone'.
  • GW signaling port must use an ID of "1".

Note

Each signaling port within an Address Context must use a unique IP address and port number combination.

Note

The SBC 52x0 and SBC 7000 systems support creating IP Interface Groups containing sets of IP interfaces that are not "processor friendly" (i.e. carried on physical Ethernet ports served by separate processors). However, restrictions exist regarding the usage of such Interface Groups.

(This ability does not apply to the SBC 51x0 and SBC 5400 systems which have only two physical media ports. IP interfaces from the two physical ports may be configured within the same IP Interface Groups without restriction.)

For complete details, refer to Configuring IP Interface Groups and Interfaces.

To View Gw Sig Port

On SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System Provisioning > Category: Base Provisioning > Signaling Ports > Gw Sig Port. The Gw Sig Port window is displayed.

Signaling Ports - Gw Sig Port

The Gw Sig Port can be checked for each Address Context or for each Zone or for all the Address Contexts and Zones created. Use the drop-down box to select the desired Address Context and Zone.

The following fields are displayed:

Gw Sig Port Parameters

Parameter

Description

Index

Specify the index for gateway signaling port.

Ip Interface Group Name

The name of the IP interface group used by this Signaling Port.

Ip Address

Specifies the IP Address of the Gateway Signal Listen Port. This is V4 and V6 IP
address in dotted decimal form (for example 128.127.50.224). Default is 0.0.0.0.

Port Number

The logical port number of the TCP port to use for this connection. Must be 1-65535, default is 2569.

Role

The main role of the signaling port:
primary(default)—the port that makes gateway signal link connection requests to other SBC, using its IP address as the local address for listening.
secondary—an alternate port that is used for listening only and cannot be used to establish new gateway signal links.

When no primary port exists, connection requests to other SBC cannot be issued and calls which require them are disconnected.
When a secondary port is configured to be primary, the previous primary is automatically made secondary.

Mode

The operational state of the Gateway signaling service:
inService(default)—the signaling port listens for incoming gateway signal link connection requests.
outofService—the signal port is not available for incoming gateway signal link connection requests and thus cannot be used to create a new gateway signal links to other SBC.

State

The administrative state of this gateway signaling port:
disabled—Not active
enabled—Active
