Interactive Connectivity Establishment (ICE) is a protocol for Network Address Translator (NAT) traversal for multimedia sessions established with the offer/answer model. ICE uses the Session Traversal Utilities for NAT (STUN) protocol and its extension that is, Traversal Using Relay NAT (TURN). ICE uses STUN and TURN servers to overcome network address translation issues that can occur when an endpoint is situated behind a NAT device.

This section controls only the IP type (IPv4 and IPv6) negotiations in the ICE protocol. Enable Ice Support on Services - Nat Traversal for SBC to consider ICE processing on a call leg.

To View and Edit Ice IP Address Type Negotiation Preference

On SBC main screen, go to All > Address Context > Zone > Sip Trunk Group > Media > Ice. The Ice window is displayed.

The Ice parameters are displayed only when the parameter,  Media Addr Type, of Sip Trunk Group is defined as IPv4 and IPv6 and the NAT Traversal Ice Support is selected on the corresponding SIP Trunk Group.

The Ice can be checked for each Address Context, for each Zone, for each Sip Trunk Group created or for all the Address Contexts, Zones and Sip Trunk Groups created. Use the drop-down box to select the desired Address Context, Zone and Sip Trunk Group.

The Edit Ice window is displayed.
