You can use the SBC EMA to generate system backup files in order to restore your configuration from a safe storage location. During this process, the system will restart and the user must re-login once the system is up and running. This is action useful if you upgrade the SBC EMA and need to reload the previous configuration. The SBC stores up to 10 manual and 7 automatic backup files. For security reasons, it was previously not possible to upload backup files to the SBC using the EMA or EMA Platform Mode. You can now upload backup files from an external source. Refer to System Administration - File Upload for more information. If you wish to re-install the SBC application for any reason, take a backup of the application so you can restore it, if needed. Ribbon recommends storing backup files to an external location. As a naming convention, all backup file names should begin with: or For example: "config_SBC001_BackupFile1.tar.gz" or "auto_backup_config_SBC001_BackupFile1.tar.gz". Perform the following tasks to backup the system: Select Administration > System Administration > Backup/Restore. Click Delete to remove/delete any of the highlighted backup files. Click Yes to back up the current system. Click Save. Click OK to complete the process. Perform the following tasks to Restore the system: Select Administration > System Administration > Backup/Restore. Click Restore. A confirmation message is displayed seeking your permission to load the selected configuration and to restart the applications on the active and standby servers. Click OK to load the selected configuration file and to restart the applications on both active and standby servers. The EMA allows you to download backup files to save the system backup file onto a local storage location. You can back up the system configuration more than once and restore the required configuration by selecting the file from the backup list. Perform the following tasks to download backup configuration files: Select Administration > System Administration > Backup/Restore. The System Backup/Restore screen is displayed. Select the file that your would like to export and click the Export icon. A confirmation message is displayed. Click Yes to proceed.
