Note

This object is accessible only in SBC SWe environments.

Note

When the SBC is deployed in a 1:1 scenario and registered with the RAMP, you must only configure the SWe Configuration Profiles through the RAMP or EMA.

Use this page to view or change which SWe traffic profile is active. The performance of the SBC SWe VMs can be optimized by providing the anticipated call mix as part of configuring the SBC SWe instance. The call mix is conveyed through a traffic profile which includes factors such as the amount and type of transcoding anticipated. The SBC consists of a set of predefined call mixes in its standard traffic profiles. You have the option to create additional custom traffic profiles.

To View the SWe Active Profile

On the SBC main screen, go to AllSystem > Swe Active Profile. The Swe Active Profile window opens, showing the name of the active profile and when it was activated.

To Set the SWe Active Profile

Standard profiles include some assumptions regarding the traffic model, which may not take into account an optimal profile for an I-SBC deployment. Ribbon recommends creating a custom traffic profile that matches the actual traffic offered to the I-SBC to get the maximum capacity.

To change the active profile:

  1. In the Edit Swe Active Profile section, select the profile to activate from the Name drop-down list.

The following table provides information on the profile options.

    ParameterDescription
    Name

The SWe active profile name. The list of profiles include any custom profiles and the following standard profiles:

    • default - By default, integrated SBC SWe instances are assigned the default profile. This profile supports a call mix which contains a combination of 98% pass-through and 2% transcoding calls.
    • standard_signaling_profile - This profile utilizes the vCPUs for signaling (direct media) calls. It is assigned by default on cloud-based S-SBC instances.
    • standard_passthrough_profile - This profile utilizes the vCPUs for pass-through calls.
    • standard_transcoding_profile - This profile utilizes the vCPUs for transcoded calls.
    • standard_callmix_profile - This profile supports call mix which contain a combination of 90% pass-through and 10% transcoding calls.
    • standard_msbc_profile - The purpose of this profile is to utilize the vCPUs primarily for pass-through calls. This profile gets auto-configured on cloud-based M-SBC instances.
    • standard_highcps_callmix_profile - This profile is similar to standard pass-through profile with higher CPS.
State Change TimeThe time-stamp of profile activation.
  2. Click Save to activate the profile. A dialog box pops-up to warn that to activate the profile, the system must be rebooted and all active calls will be lost.

  3. Click Yes to reboot the system and activate the selected profile.
