The SBC sends Gratuitous ARP with the 'opcode' reply to advertise the IP/MAC binding. Some routers support Gratuitous ARPs (GARPs) with the opcode 'request' by default. It is the recommended option for routers to send GARPs in response to ARP requests sent by any node in the same broadcast domain for address conflict detection, as mentioned in RFC 5227. In order to support the 'request' opcode and maintain backward compatibility, a configurable option to set the opcode for GARP based on the opcode supported by the router is available.
Use the following procedure to configure the GARP Opcode.
On the SBC mainscreen, go to All > System > Admin > Gratuitous ARP.
The default value for opcode is set to Reply (2). Set the Opcode as required.
Use the following table to edit the settings as needed, then click Save.
Table 1: GARP Parameters
Parameter | Length/Range | Default | Description | M/O |
---|---|---|---|---|
