Parameter Descriptions

Parameter

Description

Name

The name of the ISUP signaling group you are configuring. This name must match the strings to be used in the version field of the SIP message header.

Version Id

The version ID to identify a signaling group. Enter a value in the range of
(100..65535).

Note:

Version IDs from 0-99 are reserved

Base Profile

May be specified when configuring a named ISUP signaling profile. The specified base profile is used as a set of defaults for all profile parameter values. Then any parameter for which you explicitly specify a value overrides the default base profile value, in the resulting named signaling profile.

OLIP Check

Specifies whether or not to support check for the presence of an OLIP when determining that a call is invalid.

The options are:

  • Un Supported (default)
  • Supported

Hop Count
Value

The initial Hop Counter value to use (if Hop Count State is enabled). Must be 10-20.

Hop Count
State

The state of Hop Counting procedures for this service group:

  • Un Supported - (default) The procedures are in effect. This state requires that the ISUP protocol revision be ANSI1992 or ANSI1995.
  • Supported - The procedures are not in effect.

When Hop Count State is enabled, the following applies:

  • If a Hop Counter parameter is received from the ingress leg of the call, it is decremented and included in the outgoing IAM message. If no Hop Counter is present in the ingress leg of the call, it is included in the outgoing IAM message using Hop Count Value.
  • If a Hop Counter of zero is present in the ingress leg of the call, the call is released with a cause of "exchange routing error".

When Hop Count State is disabled, the following applies:

  • If a Hop Counter parameter is received from the ingress leg of the call, it is passed transparently in the outgoing IAM message.
  • If a Hop Counter of value zero is present in the ingress leg of the call, the call is released with a cause of "exchange routing error".

Base Version

Specifies the version of the Base Signaling group from rfc3204. The possible values are:

OLIP Check on
Send

When a call with a Charge Number and a Calling Party Number arrives, by default the SBC checks for Originating Line Information Parameters (OLIP) and rejects the call if they are not present. This parameter turns OLIP checking off for certain switches that do not supply OLIP information to such calls:

Allow SGDin Generic Digits

Specifies whether SGD parameter (Generic Digits type 25) in mime of SIP-I message is supported or not. The options are:

  • Un Supported (default)
  • Supported
Note:

If the SGD parameter in the SIP-I mime is to be processed or sent, the Generic Digits needs to be supported as well.

Note:

This flag is not applicable when the SBC is configured for ERE mode.

Set Bci Cdps Based On Sip Call Status

Set this flag to "supported" to modify the called party's status indicator in BCI parameter of MIME data as per the SIP status. If 183 Session Progress is carrying a MIME of called party's status indicator in BCI with a value OTHER THAN "No indication", then it is updated to a value "No indication". Similarly, if 180 Ringing is carrying a MIME of called party's status indicator in BCI with a value OTHER THAN "Subscriber Free", then it is updated to a value "Subscriber Free".

The options are:

  • Un Supported (default)
  • Supported
Send PRIon RELfor CBWF

Use this flag to send either APM or PRI message with Call Back When Free (CBWF) information on the SIP-I (UK-ISUP) leg during tear down of CBWF call.

The options are:

  • Supported: Send PRI message
  • Un Supported (default): Send APM message
Note:

The flag Send PRIon RELfor CBWF applies to SIP-I (UK-ISUP variant) only.

Send APPin APMfor CBWF

Use this flag to send CBWF-related APP (ACI=126) in a new APM message. If set to "unsupported" , APP is sent in the regular signaling message (e.g. ACM instead of APM).

The options are:

  • Supported: When this option is selected, only APM messages are sent with APP information.
  • Un Supported (default): When this option is selected, the APP parameter is sent in regular signaling messages. For example, ACM instead of APM.
Note:

The flag Send APPin APMfor CBWF applies to SIP-I (UK-ISUP variant) only.

Gr317Charge Number Compliance

Use this flag to check the charge number digit length is in compliance with GR317 which specifies a maximum of 10 digits in IAM message. The Gr317Charge Number Compliance flag does not affect the charge number header contents in SIP messages. When the egress trunk group has the Isup Mime Body Relay flag enabled, any charge number parameter received in the ingress ISUP MIME is sent in the egress ISUP MIME irrespective of the value of Gr317Charge Number Compliance setting.

  • UnSupported (default) – SBC does not check charge number digit length for GR317 compliance.
  • Supported – SBC checks charge number digit length for GR317 compliance, and does not send message if digit length is greater than 10 digits. If digit length is 11 or more digits, the charge number parameter is discarded and a MINOR log message is logged to the debug log.
Note:

This flag can only be set to Supported for ANSI ISUP variant. Additionally, the Gr317Charge Number Compliance check only applies to the ISUP MIME sent by the SBC; it does not apply to the ISUP MIME received by the SBC.

Charge Rate Info For CPC Apc

Use this flag to determine whether the SBC checks for specific payphone-related characteristics in J-ISUP to non-Japanese ISUP calls to trigger using different charge rate information (CRI). The options are:

  • Supported
  • Un Supported (default)

If set to Supported, the SBC checks for the following conditions:

  • The ingress leg of the call must be a J-ISUP variant
  • The egress leg of the call must be a non-Japanese ISUP variant
  • The call request must include one of the following:
    • The CPC (Calling Party's Category) value in the incoming INVITE/IAM message has the value "pay phone"
    • The APC (Additional Party Category) value in the incoming INVITE/IAM message has the value "Pink" (00000010) or "train pay phone"(00000001).

If a call meets the conditions, the SBC takes charge rate information (CRI) taken from the PSX Charge Rate Profile table specified in the PSX Charge Band Profile associated with the call's ingress trunk group. The CRI is returned in the first backward Address Complete Message (ACM), Call Progress (CPG), or Charging Information (CHG) message during call setup.

If the option is set to Supported but the conditions are not met or Charge Rate Profile table data is not available, no charge information is returned in the ACM, CPG, or CHG messages.

If the option is set to Un Supported, the SBC takes CRI values from the PSX Charge Rate Information Parameter table for J-ISUP to non-Japanese ISUP calls and sends them in the first backward ACM, CPG, or CHG message during call setup.

Note:

The Charge Rate Info For CPC Apc option is only configurable on Japan-based ISUP Signaling Profiles in which the Revision value specifies either the Nttfcc or Nttcom ISUP variant.

Cpg Release Timer

Use this timer to specify a time, in seconds, after which the SBC releases a call that has had ANM to CPG message conversion applied. The timer can be set up to 300 seconds. The default is 0.

Note:
Values greater than 0 can be configured only on JAPAN-based profiles in which the Revision value specifies either the Nttfcc or Nttcom ISUP variant.
