Use this screen to configure the local identity type details that the SBC presents to the peer during phase 1 authentication.

To View and Edit Local Identity

On the SBC main screen, navigate to All > Address Context > IPsec > Peer > Local Identity.

You can check the Local Identity for each Address Context and Peer or all Address Contexts and Peers. Use the drop-down box to select the desired Address Context and Peer.

The Local Identity window is displayed.


Local Identity Parameters:

Parameter

 Type

Choose an IP address format type.

  • FQDN – This parameter specifies that the local identity is presented in Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) format, taking as its value the FQDN of the SBC, specified by the next argument, such as ribbon.example.com.
  • IP V4AddrThis parameter specifies that the local identity will be presented in IPv4 address dotted decimal format, taking as its value the IP address of the SBC specified by the next argument (example: 138.456.78.999).
  • IP V6Addr – This parameter specifies that the local identity will be presented in IPv6 address hexadecimal/colon format, taking as its value the IP address of the SBC specified by the next argument (example: 1280:1276:3350:2224:2222:3333:8888:1245 or fd00:21:445:128::7880).
  • IP Vx Addr – Ignore, not used at this time.

IP Address V4 or V6

The IPv4/IPv6 address to use for this local identity.

Make the required changes and click Save.
