In this section:

The Codec List profile is used to store precedence and purge lists of video codec MIME subtypes.

When configuring precedence List Items and purge List Items attributes, the following rules apply:

  1. A precedence or purge list cannot contain duplicate entries.
  2. A precedence or purge list cannot contain a space character.
  3. Duplicate entries are not allowed within a precedence and purge list for the same Codec List Profile.
  4. A purge list cannot contain the list special character, or asterisk (*).

To View Codec List Profile

On the SBC main screen, go to Configuration > Profile Management > Category: Media Profiles > Codec List Profile.

The Codec List Profile window is displayed.

To Edit Codec List Profile

To edit any of the Codec List Profile in the list, click the radio button next to the specific Codec List Profile name.

The Edit Selected Codec List Profile window is displayed below.

Make the required changes and click Save at the right hand bottom of the panel to save the changes made.

To Create Codec List Profile

To create a new Codec List Profile, click New Codec List Profile tab on the Codec List Profile List panel.

The Create New Codec List Profile window is displayed.

Parameter Description
Name Specifies the name of the Codec List Profile to be created. The value ranges up to 23 characters.
Precedence List ItemsEnter comma-separated values using any alphanumeric characters except the space character. Enter codecs in order of precedence, for example {codec1,codec2,codec3} where codec1 represents the highest precedence.The Default value is '*' (all codecs are included).
Purge List ItemsEnter comma-separated codec values using any alphanumeric characters except the space character or asterisk "*".

To Copy Codec List Profile

To copy any of the created Codec List Profile and to make any minor changes, click the radio button next to the specific Codec List Profile to highlight the row.

Click Copy Codec List Profile tab on the Codec List Profile List panel.

The Copy Selected Codec List Profile window is displayed along with the field details which can be edited.

Make the required changes to the required fields and click Save to save the changes. The copied Codec List Profile is displayed at the bottom of the original Codec List Profile in the Codec List Profile List panel.

To Delete Codec List Profile

To delete any of the created Codec List Profile, click the radio button next to the specific Codec List Profile which you want to delete.

Click Delete at the end of the highlighted row. A delete confirmation message appears seeking your decision.

Click Yes to remove the specific Codec List Profile from the list.
