Use the SIP Ood window to specify a global rate limit for incoming SIP out-of-dialog (OOD) messages, per second. In calculating the rate, the SBC counts all SIP out-of-dialog requests except INVITE AND REGISTER requests. The purpose for the configured limit is to specify when to alert an operator that the limit is exceeded. When the configured message rate is exceeded, the SBC generates a trap. A clear trap is generated when the message rate falls to 90 percent or less of the configured rate limit. Refer to Global - Ood Message Current Statistics and Global - Ood Message Interval Statistics for information in usage rates on the system.

To Set the SIP OOD Message Rate Limit

  1. From the SBC main window go to All > Global > SIP Ood. The SIP Ood window opens.

  2. In Licensed Max Rate Limit, enter a numeric value between 1 and 65535 to specify the maximum number of OOD messages per second that can occur before a trap is triggered. The default value is unlimited.
  3. Click Save.
