This section provides information on how to use the various network tool utilities.

Network Tools

The Network Tools screen allows you to perform a ping or trace-route of an IP address on a specific interface on SBC. This screen also provides the status of the SBC interfaces.

The Network Tools screen consists of the following GUI elements:

Ping/Trace-route

This pane allows you to perform a ping or trace-route of an IP address on a specific interface on SBC.
You can view the states of the ping and also the results of the ping when it is complete.
Similarly, you can view the states of the trace-route and also the results of the trace-route when it is complete.

IP Address (IPv4 or IPv6)Specifies the IPv4 or IPv6 address information.
Platform Interface

Specifies the platform interface to perform the trace-route or ping action.

ResultsSpecifies the results of the trace-route/ping for the entered IPv4 or IPv6 for the specific platform interface.
Platform Interface StatusThis pane displays the status of a specific SBC platform interface.
InterfaceLists the various SBC platform interfaces.

Using Ping/Trace-route Tool

To use the Ping/Trace-route utilities, perform the following:

  1. Enter the IPv4 or IPv6 Address in the IPv4 or IPv6 Address field.
  2. Select the Platform Interface from the drop-down list.
  3. Click Start Trace-route.

    Note

    While the trace-route is in progress, the Results text box displays the progress status. When the trace-route is complete, the Results text box displays the results.

  4. Repeat the same process for executing the Ping utility.

    While the ping is in progress, the Results text box displays the progress status. When the ping is complete, the Results text box displays the results.

Viewing Platform Interface Status

To view the SBC platform interface status, perform the following:

In the Platform Interface Status pane, select the interface whose status you want to view. The status is displayed in the right side of the Interface list.

Note

You can filter the required interfaces using the Search option found above the Interface list.
