This section provides options to manage all the announcement files which are uploaded to SBC. You can organize and track the announcement files.

Announcement files (.wav) are short audio files used when SBC sends the 183 Session Progress in SIP calls. These are system generated files. SBC also provides an option to create your own announcement files.

To View Managed Announcements

On SBC main screen, navigate to Administration > System Administration > Manage Announcements. The Manage Announcements window is displayed.

There are two panes in Manage Announcements window:

  • Uploaded Announcements: Once you upload an announcement file (.wav) using the File Upload option, the uploaded file is displayed in this pane. By default, only five files are displayed. You can choose the number of entries to be displayed under the Show entries drop-down list. This pane is blank If there are no files uploaded.
  • Announcements in Announcement Directory: Any uploaded file (.wav) displayed in the Uploaded Announcements pane can be moved to Announcement DirectoryYou can also delete the desired announcement file in this pane.
  1. Always prefix the announcement wav file with the letter "s". For example: s321.wav
  2. The system takes approximately ten minutes to read the new file, once it is moved to the announcement directory.

To Upload an Announcement File

Manage Announcements window does not have an option to upload announcement files. To upload announcement files, use the File Upload option. Refer to System Administration - File Upload for more information on how to upload files to SBC. Once the file is uploaded, it is displayed in the Uploaded Announcement pane.

To Move an Announcement File to Announcement Directory

To move an announcement file to the Announcement Directory:

  1. In the Uploaded Announcements pane, select the file you want to move to Announcement Directory.
  2. Click Move to Announcements Directory.
    The selected file is moved to the Announcement Directory and the file is now displayed in the Announcements in Announcement Directory pane. You can move more than one file at a time.
    The most recent file is available at the bottom of the list. Browse to the last page on this pane to view the most recent file. You can also sort the files in ascending or descending order based on the Name parameter.

To Delete an Announcement File

Once an announcement file is deleted, it cannot be retrieved from any location.

To delete an announcement file from the Announcement Directory:

  1. Click  against the respective file name.

    A delete confirmation dialog box is displayed.

  2. Click Delete to remove the selected file from the directory.
