Use the following procedure to perform an orderly shutdown of the SBC SWe application. If the host system on which SBC SWe is installed must be shut down, use this procedure to shut down the application first to avoid issues such as disk corruption.

To shut down the SBC SWe application:

  1. Log into the SBC linux shell as the 'linuxadmin' user and change the user to 'root.'

  2. Stop the SBC application by issuing the following command:
    $ sbxstop

  3. Verify that the SBC application is stopped by checking the output from the following command:
    $ sbxstatus

  4. Shut down the SWe instance using the following command:
    $ shutdown -h now

Ribbon recommends connecting your host server to at least one uninterruptible power supply to avoid issues arising from an unorderly shutdown.
