In the EMA, navigate to All > OAM > Local Auth > Rule-list.

The window Rule-list appears.

The parameters (presented as columns) in the table Rule-list are:

List of administrative groups that will be assigned to the associated access rights defined by the Rule-list.

The string * indicates that all Groups apply to the entry.

Most of the subsequent frames and tables in this document contains Name and Group as parameters. Refer back to the table above for the descriptions.

Create new Rule-list

To create a new Rule-list, click the button New Rule-list in the frame Rule-list.

The frame Create New Rule-list appears.

Give an appropriate Name to the new Rule-list. The field Group blank can be left blank; it will default to the group that corresponds to the level of access to the SBC in the ongoing session.

To assign a Group to a newly created Rule-list, in the box at the right of the field Group, put a comma, followed by a string. The format is:

,<Name of Group>                /*Replace <Name of Group> with an actual string, but without the angular brackets <>.*/

After making modifications, click Save to save the changes made. Click Undo Edits to cancel all changes made since the last save configuration.

After saving the changes successfully, the Success message will appear. Click Ok on the Success message pop-up.

Edit a Rule-list

To edit a Rule-list, select it from the table Rule-list.

The frame Edit Selected Rule-list appears. Edit the value for the field Group by maintaining the syntax mentioned in the previous section Create a new Rule-list.

Click Save to save the changes. Click Undo Edits to cancel all changes made since the last saved configuration. On saving successfully, the Success message appears. Click Ok on the pop-up Success.

Copy a Rule-list

To copy a Rule-list, select a Rule-list from the table Rule-list.

Click the button Copy Rule-list.

The frame Copy Selected Rule-list appears. Give an appropriate Name, and change the value for the field Group, if necessary.

Click Save to save the changes. Click Undo Edits to cancel all changes made since the last saved configuration. On saving successfully, the Success message appears. Click Ok on the pop-up Success.

Reorder a Rule-list

To reorder a Rule-list, select a Rule-list from the table in the frame Rule-list.

Click the button Reorder Rule-list.

The frame Reorder Rule-list appears.

The drop-down menu indicates the desired destination of the selected Rule-list presents four possible options:

  • after
  • before
  • to the first position
  • to the last position

If after or before is chosen by the user, the appearance of the frame Reorder Rule-list changes. It asks the user to provide the choice of Rule-list, after or before which the SBC places the selected Rule-list.

If, however, the user chooses the destination as to the first position or to the last position, the appearance of the frame Reorder Rule-list remains the same. Depending on the choice, the selected Rule-list is placed to either at the top of the table or at the bottom of the table.

Click Save to save the changes made for reordering. Click Undo Edits to cancel all modifications made since the last saved configuration. On saving the changes successfully, the Success message appears. Click Ok on the pop-up Success.

Delete a Rule-list

To delete a Rule-List, select the Rule-list from the table.

Click the delete symbol at the right end of the selected row. The pop-up Delete Rule-list appears, asking for confirmation of deletion.

Click Yes on the pop-up. The message Delete successful appears. Click Ok on the pop-up.


The SBC does not allow deleting Rule-list that belongs to any one of the following Groups:

  • Administrator
  • Operator
  • FieldService
  • Guest
  • Calea
  • SecurityAuditor

An attempt to delete a Rule-list belonging to any one of those Groups results in the following error message:

The user can delete a Rule-list only if it belongs to a Group other than the ones displayed in the error message.
