This object is used to define criteria for applying DM/PM (digit manipulation/ parameter manipulation) rules. You can also use this screen to define criteria for applying URI manipulation rules.

For digit manipulation, the matching criteria can be digits in the calling or called numbers, outpulse numbers from SCP queries, generic numbers, and so on. For example, you can provision the SBC 7000 to check if the first three digits of the calling number are 617, or to check if digits 4 through 6 are 723.

For parameter manipulation, the matching criteria is based on the specified parameter type. For example, you can provision the SBC 5400 series to match a specified Calling Party Category (CPC), or match a specified Originating Line Information Parameter (OLIP) value.

To View Dm Pm Criteria

On SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System Provisioning > Category: Call Routing > Profiles > Digit Parameter Handling > Dm Pm Criteria. The Dm Pm Criteria window is displayed.

To Edit Dm Pm Criteria

To edit any of the Dm Pm Criteria in the list, click the radio button next to the specific Dm Pm Criteria name.

The Edit Selected Dm Pm Criteria window is displayed below.

Make the required changes and click Save at the right hand bottom of the panel to save the changes made.

To Create Dm Pm Criteria

To create a new Dm Pm Criteria, click New Dm Pm Criteria tab on the Dm Pm Criteria List panel.

Parameter Description
Name The name of the DM/PM (digit manipulation/parameter manipulation), up to 23 characters.
Criteria Type

Select the criteria type from the drop-down list:

  • Digit
  • Parameter
  • URI

Digit Type

The digit/parameter type to which this DM/PM Criteria entry applies. For digit manipulation, the possible choices are:

  • Calling Number
  • Called Number
  • Pretranslated
  • Redirection
  • Original Called Number
  • Location
  • Redirecting
  • Outpulse Number
  • Billing Number
  • GN: Dialed Digits
  • GN: Destination
  • GN: User Calling, Screened
  • GN: User Calling, Not Screened
  • GN: Redirecting Terminating
  • GN: Ported Dialed
  • GN: Called CES Id
  • GN: Additional Called
  • GN: Additional Connected

Parameter Preference Check

The SBC 5400 performs applies PM rules based on whether a parameter exists or does not exist. Possible values are:
Exists—The SBC 5400 applies the associated PM rule if the parameter is present in the call parameters.
Doesn't Exist—The SBC 5400 applies the associated PM rule if the parameter is not present in the call parameters.

To Copy Dm Pm Criteria

To copy any of the created Dm Pm Criteria and to make any minor changes, click the radio button next to the specific Dm Pm Criteria to highlight the row.

Click Copy Dm Pm Criteria tab on the Dm Pm Criteria List panel.

The Copy Selected Dm Pm Criteria window is displayed along with the field details which can be edited.

Make the required changes to the required fields and click Save to save the changes. The copied Dm Pm Criteria is displayed at the bottom of the original Dm Pm Criteria in the Dm Pm Criteria List panel.

To Delete Dm Pm Criteria

To delete any of the created Dm Pm Criteria, click the radio button next to the specific Dm Pm Criteria which you want to delete.

Click Delete at the end of the highlighted row. A delete confirmation message appears seeking your decision.

Click Yes to remove the specific Dm Pm Criteria from the list.
