In an HA configuration, the two SBC VMs are connected to each other using the HA ports on the respective VMs. When switchover occurs, the logical management address follows the currently active VM. The packet ports, the IP addresses float between the HA pair (are replicated from active to standby on switchover).
The HA logical ports must be in the same network and routable using the switch. These HA ports must be connected to a switch.
A logical management address is the IP address associated with a Logical Management IP Interface previously created using EMA or CLI.
See the following pages to configure a Logical Management IP Interface:
To avoid errors when configuring the SBC system for HA, ensure both VMs are designed to operate together and support full redundancy and high availability. Refer to Production Releases for interoperability and compatibility requirements.
