The bottom slot of the SBC chassis contains the System Controller Card (SCC) module, which is also known as Baseboard Management Controller (BMC). SCC is used for chassis management and processing. An SCC is a single CRU model, which contains one SCC/BMC management port (10MB/100MB), one serial port, and one 15-pin alarm port. The SCC product code is SBC-7000-SCC.
The following items are needed to replace a SCC7000:
The SCC IS NOT a hot pluggable module. Removing the SCC in a running chassis will crash the system.
To replace a SCC/BMC card:
Unscrew the thumb screws using #2 Phillips-head screwdriver, open release lever and pull the SCC/BMC module out.
All SBC 7000 CRUs are shipped in electrostatic discharge (ESD) bags and must be handled by using appropriate ESD precautions. The storage environment for these CRUs are:
The ESD Susceptibility symbol warns of the presence of Ribbon devices susceptible to electrostatic discharge. Do not handle equipment without wearing a properly grounded ESD wrist strap.
