In this section:

Use the Trigger Action Rule window to configure a rule within a Retry profile that triggers a specific action. A rule consists of a rule index, SIP response code(s), and warning code(s) (optional). A rule also has associated action(s).

To View Trigger Action Rules

On the SBC main screen, navigate to All > Profiles > Services > Retry Profile > Trigger Action RuleThe Trigger Action Rule window is displayed. Select the name of a Retry Profile to filter the list of rules.

To Create a Trigger Action Rule

 To create a new trigger action rule:

  1. In the Retry Profile list, select the name of the Retry Profile to which you want to add the rule. 
  2. Click New Trigger Action RuleThe Create New Trigger Action Rule window is displayed.

  3. Use the following table to configure the rule and its associated action. You can add more actions to a rule. Refer to Trigger Action Rule - Action for information on adding additional actions to a rule.

Action Index1-16A numeric identifier for the action. Up to 16 actions can be assigned to a Trigger Action Rule. Each action contains an Action Type (below).

  • fallBackToIPV4
  • fallBackToIPV6
  • retryWithoutIdentity (retry the same route without using identity management)

Note: An Action can include more than one Action Type. However, it does not support both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses at the same time.

To Edit a Trigger Action Rule

To edit a trigger action rule:

  1. Click the radio button next to the index for the trigger action rule you want to edit. The Edit Selected Trigger Action Rule window opens.
  2. Make the required changes and click Save.

 To Copy a Trigger Action Rule

 To copy a trigger action rule and make changes to the copy:

  1. Click the radio button next to the index for the trigger action rule you want to copy.

  2. Click Copy Trigger Action Rule. The Copy Selected Trigger Action Rule window opens.
  3. Make the required changes and click Save.

 To Delete a Trigger Action Rule

To delete a trigger action rule: 

  1. Click the radio button next to the index for the trigger action rule you want to delete.
  2. Click the delete icon (X) at the end of the row.
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
