The Ribbon Life-Cycle Manager (LCM) is used to automate instantiation and Upgrade of SBC instances in AWS. The Ribbon LCM runs on a standard RHEL/Centos/Ubuntu or Debian instance which the customer is required to maintain. The Ribbon LCM is composed of a set of script files.

To locate the AMI ID of a Linux image in your region, refer to the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the EC2 Management Console for the region in which you plan to launch the HFE and SBC.
  2. Click on Launch Instance.
    The Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) screen displays.
  3. Locate the Amazon Linux 2 AMI (HVM), SSD Volume Type image in the list, and then copy and save the 64-bit x86 AMI ID locally for use later when deploying the LCM.
