This object specifies the type of action to take for the selected rule and its effective period.

On the SBC main screen, navigate to All > Profiles > Services > Enhanced DBL Profile > Rule > Action.

Select the Enhanced DBL Profile and the Rule from the respective dropdown list.

The Action window is displayed.

Select the action type from the Type drop-down list.

When the action Type is selected as Reject With Response, the field Reject With Response Code is displayed.

ParameterDescription
TypeThe type of action to be taken when the configured criteria is met for the selected rule.
Effective Period

The duration in seconds (0-86400) for the specified action to occur. An  Effective Period of "0" is treated as infinite value. The default value is 60.

  • Blacklist: All packets from the affected endpoint are dropped for the effective period.
  • Reject With Response: Any request from such endpoints are rejected with the configured rejection response code (400-699) for the effective period.
  • Watch (default): The SBC passively watches for offenders, and does not take any direct action.

NOTE:

  • This parameter is displayed when the parameter Effective Period is set to Reject With Response.
     
  • Use a valid SIP response code while configuring Reject With Response Code because the CLI does not validate it during the configuration. 
  • The supported response codes within 400-699 (RFC 3261 compliant) are: 
    • For 4xx: 400, 401, 402, 403, 404, 405, 406, 407, 408, 409, 410, 411, 413, 414, 415, 416, 417, 420, 421, 422, 423, 480, 481, 482, 483, 484, 485, 486, 487, 488, 491, 493, 494. 
    • For 5xx: 500, 501, 502, 503, 504, 505, 513, 580. 
    • For 6xx: 600, 603, 604, 606.
 

Make necessary changes and click Save to save the changes. Click Undo Edits to cancel all changes.
