In this section:
SBC 5000 series platforms configured for AC power are equipped with either a single or dual redundant AC power supplies depending upon what was ordered. These are Customer Replaceable Units (CRU). The figure AC Power Supply below depicts a dual redundant configuration. The AC power supply Ribbon Part Number is 451-10125 and the product code is SBC-5XXX-PSUAC.
.
In a dual redundant Power Supply configuration, the Power Supplies are hot-swappable meaning that a Power Supply may be replaced without powering down the SBC 5000 series platform (provided that the redundant Power Supply is operational).
Parts and Tools Required
- Electrostatic discharge (ESD) strap
- Replacement AC power supply
Replacing a Power Supply
Perform the following procedure to replace a Power Supply:
- Verify the POK green LED of the redundant Power Supply is lit.
- Attach an Electrostatic Discharge wrist strap to the ESD grounding point on the back panel of the chassis, and place the other end around your wrist (refer to Connecting Electrostatic Discharge Wrist Strap for details).
Disconnect the AC power cable from the AC Power Supply as shown below.
Disengage the AC Power Supply by moving the latch to the left as shown below.
Pull on the loop handle to slide the AC Power Supply out of the SBC 5000 series chassis as shown below.
- Install the replacement AC Power Supply into the SBC 5000 series chassis by sliding it forward until you hear the latch click in place.
