BFD (Bidirectional Forwarding Detection) provides a fast link failure detection mechanism for upper-layer applications. The BFD feature detects failures on any bidirectional forwarding path, such as direct physical link, and between network devices. The BFD feature is used by remote end points or routers to continuously monitor availability of the SBC interfaces. BFD functionality is defined in RFCs 5880, 5881.
View BFD Profiles
To view BFD profiles, on the SBC main screen, go to All > Profiles > Bfd profile. The BFD profile window is displayed.
Create a BFD Profile
To create a new BFD Profile, click New Bfd Profile. The create new BFD profile window is displayed.
Use the following table to configure the new BFD profile parameters. Click Save to save the profile.
Edit a BDF Profile
To edit a BFD profile, click the radio button next to the BFD Profile name. The Edit Selected BFD Profile window is displayed.
Make any required changes and click Save.
To Delete a BFD Profile
- Click the radio button next to the BFD Profile you want to delete.
- Click the delete icon (X) at the end of the row.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
